Motto – Research on cool stuff.

This webpage is under active construction.

I work at the intersection of topology, soft matter, and photonics, using ideas from group theory and quantum field theory to model and control complex optical textures. My recent focus includes topological defects in liquid crystals, sub-Rayleigh imaging via coherence and speckle engineering, and photonic integrated circuits enabling programmable functionality, including optical neural networks. I love theory, but I need to prove it with experiments and simulations 🔬😀.

Currently: University of Oxford (Soft Matter Photonics Group); projects on topology, defects, photonic integrated circuits, holographic microscopy, smart windows, and blue-phase devices.
Previously: Columbia University (Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics); projects on thin-film transistors, laser-annealed phase transitions, and racetrack memory concepts. Earlier work includes structural materials, metallic glasses, and corrosion.
